" THE LOUISIANA HURRICANES"
Lafayette's Finest Semi-pro Football Team
TRY-OUTS - Oct. 26th
STM Football field 8:00am-11:00
The Louisiana Hurricanes are coming off of their 3rd Straight consecutive winning season. In 2006 they were crowned conference Champs in the NAFL. sending 11 players to the All star game in Orlando. In 2007 the Canes moved over to the spring league ranked 34th in the Nation by minor league football and made it to the Championship game but came up short, finishing the season ranked 24th in the Nation. The very next season the Canes got focused, changed the attitude of the program and started off strong by beating the 5th ranked team in the Nation in a preseason match up. The Canes showed how focued they were by going 12-1 and capturing a Championship!! The Canes have also captured the hearts and attention of many of the people in the Acadiana, and surrounding areas. The off season has been great for the Hurricane's organization as some of the players and coaches are featured in Cupids music video (THE HAPPY DANCE) which will be on MTV and BET.
This organization, while proving to be an elite program, is dedicated to advertising the players to the community, while (GIVING) our athletes the tools and opportunities to move to the next level. We take pride in developing our players and helping them become professionals on and off the field. The Canes currently have a billboard on the thru-way in Lafayette to advertise our team but more importantly our Players. This team is dedicated to the players and thats why players are dedicated to it.
The Hurricanes play in the TLSWFA, a Top notch spring league that is dedicated to giving back to the players. The Canes started their off season training on the second Sunday in August. The Canes are training harder than last year for the upcoming season to repeat as Champions, while making our City and sponsors proud.
So if you are interested in becoming a Cane for the upcoming season as we continue our quest for greatness contact General Manager Dianne Porche at (337-277-6840) or Head Coach Damon Taylor at (337-303-3274)
