The TLSWFA has opened up their team enrollment for the 2010 season. Any team interested in joining contact President Chris Boykins by phone or email listed below for futher information about their upcoming league meetings in September, October, November and January.
The TLSWFA is in search for a few more competitive organizations in the Texas and Louisiana area with lots of talent. DOES YOUR TEAM HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY ALONG WITH SOME EXTRA CASH? Then this is the league for your team.
TLSWFA was created in 2007 under the umbrella of the Boykins Youth Foundation, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization. TLSWFA was started as a collective voice to promote minor league football, cheer and dance. Its founder, Chris Boykins, brings to the league professional football experience, a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for the game as well as a heart for people. Former NFL star, Derrick Harris, (RB for the Rams and Chargers) also helped jumpstart the minor league. Harris says this league was none other than a, “necessity for teams throughout the southwestern region.” With Harris talents from the University of Miami and his NFL playing experience Harris has pulled together a few other former NFL players that helped kick off this competitive league.
TLSWFA was created to give athletes in the Gulf Coast Region another chance to play the game, while showcasing their athletic strengths. Our approach to the sport is unique in that, our top priority is "mentorship". We require each of our teams to produce at least 25 hours each year in some form of community service. Our aim is to continually better our integrity and character in each of our players.
We have a coalition with Minor League Football News (MLFN), Beyond Sports, Arena Football League (AFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), National Football League (NFL), Semi Pro Football, and many other sports related franchises, organizations and businesses.
Our mission is to improve, promote and protect minor league football for those who play, coach, support or dream of playing the game. We want to encourage, pursue and implement great athletic programs in the TLSWFA. Members of the TLSWFA will always act in the best interest of the TLSWFA. Following the vision of this league with integrity and character is key. JOIN US!
