I went to college for two years then sat out for almost four. During that time I trained in the weight room, did my EDD's and got all the one-on-one work I could get. I then got in on two rounds of flag and three full-contact games. As my former Oklahoma State & Oregon teammates were going pro I had a decision to make.
I chose to return to play college ball, but only had DII or lower division eligibility based upon the 'ten semester rule'. I dominated my first season back and made many post season honors with only two picks. Bottom line....I controlled one half of the field and forced teams to go to their left.
I turned down a late round draft opportunity with the New York Giants in the 1990 NFL Draft. I wanted to increase my stock only to go down with injury my senior year.
After the 1991 NFL Draft I had two free agent choices. The KC Chiefs (Mark Hatley) or San Diego Chargers (Bobby Beathard). Did you hear me?? I said I had choices!!! Well I chose the Chargers only to go down again in Rookie Camp with a left knee injury. I rehabbed and continued pursuing my dream. I made every sacrifice known to modern man to get in front of scouts and bounced around on various rosters. My only full and healthy season was in the Arena Football League with Detroit and Albany!! I would do it all over again the exact same way.
I've been developing athletes since 1993 with 99 going on to college ball and 12 to the NFL...real talk!!
My experience as a player and coach have given me a keen eye for evaluating and developing talent. Add the fact that I have good working relationships with college recruiters and pro football scouts as well.
The stage for you is JUNE 6-8, 2001 @ Vadnais Sports Center.
