LOCUST GROVE, GA - The Horsemen scored their first touchdown on a 4yd TD pass from quarterback Charles McCullum to Andre Powell for a 6-0 Horsemen lead in the first quarter. The two teams would trade possessions the remainder of the half.

In the third quarter the Jets finally struck via the defense when Julian Limehouse took a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown to even the score at 6-6. The Horsemen would gallop 65 yards and finish the game winning drive with a 17yd TD pass from McCullum to Tonio Bearden, who had major impact on the drive, with a successful 2pt conversion and a 14-6 lead with 2:10 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Horsemen defense would shut the Jets offense, one that had dropped serious numbers through 4 games, and not allow the Jets to even sniff a threat of a drive which end when Detronn Harris was sacked on fourth down with just over a minute left to seal the win for the Horsemen.

Henry County (6-0) will travel to the Georgia Crush next week. The Crush fell 55-14 to the Atlanta Chiefs (3-2) who will visit the Jets (4-1) next week.

Jones, Taylor Hook Up For 3 Scores in Lynx Win

HADDONFIELD, New Jersey – The South Jersey Lynx (2-3) were determined to avenge a loss they were handed earlier in the season at the hands of the Lancaster Lightning (1-4). This has not been the best season for the Lynx but the loss to the Lightning still doesn’t sit well with anyone in the organization. To this date, the Lynx have outscored the Lightning 305-64 in their 7 meetings. The Lynx lead the seven game series 6-1.



Offensively, the Lynx scored the same amount of points as the previous meeting. Third year QB Keith Jones led the Lynx to a big win by tossing 3 touchdowns all to Lynx veteran, Maurice Taylor. The two connected on pass plays of 30, 55 and 62 yard scores. This was Jones’ best performance as a quarterback as a Lynx. Taylor is no stranger to the endzone, he has reached paydirt more than 20 times in his 7 years as a Lynx.



The biggest difference in the last two meetings was the way the defense played. Giving up 35 points to a team that had only scored 23 total points in 5 games was difficult for the team to deal with. “We had a problem tackling when we faced the Lightning earlier this year, said Head Coach Lester Cream Jr., “We had to fix that if we expected to win any games at all.” Not only did the Lynx tackle better, they sacked the Lancaster quarterback 10 times led by James Pollard Jr.’s 4. Samir Horsey, Dawain Ford and Aaron Clark all chipped in with 2 sacks apiece. Jerald Hornsby contributed to the scoring by picking up a fumble and returning it 18 yards for 6 points, his second fumble return touchdown of the season. Ford also added a 68 yard rush for a touchdown.



This was a much needed win for the Lynx. This week they will face the Bergen (NJ) Hawks (0-3) and try to reach .500 for the first time this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm this Saturday evening at Paul VI High School in Haddonfield, NJ.



Elsewhere in North Atlantic – North Division, Jersey Stags defeat DC Explosion 45-6 and Chambersburg Cardinal devoured the Bergen Hawks 54-3.
