Two thumbs up to the Alliance Football League for providing a nice package of benefits to its' member teams, but in the interest of full disclosure, claiming the "cheapest league fee" is a little deceptive. the Alliance Football League is one of 2 large leagues that I know of that have mandatory "Players Associations" that require every player in the league to pay a fee of $35 for the privilege of PLAYING in the league. Now if you do the math------- that's an additional $1750 in revenue from a team that has 50 players. So even if the league dues for each team are low, THE ACTUAL COST PER TEAM TO COMPETE is pretty high. So it's logical that the benefits should be high as well.
THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK ON THE ALLIANCE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I applaud them for delivering benefits (look, the Nashville Storm have spent their last 2 seasons in the PSFL, which ALSO had high costs, promised a bunch of benefits, and then didn't deliver ANYTHING they promised------ that kind of thing is what you REALLY want to stay away from).
In the end, THE IDEA IS TO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. So I applaud the Alliance League for GIVING YOU WHAT YOU PAY FOR----- BUT IT IS NOT A LOW-COST LEAGUE, and someone joining should not do so THINKING THEY ARE A LOW-COST LEAGUE------- because they're not. What they actually take in per team is HIGHER than average, not the other way around.
This winter, let's see EVERYBODY evaluate what leagues have to offer on a basis of apples-to-apples and oranges-to-oranges evaluations. In choosing a league, team owners ARE CONSUMERS, and are entitled to the facts on what they're "buying" every time. I'm a consumer, and that's how I'll make my choice (bet you've already figured out it won't be the PSFL).
