Here is a partial schedule of open tryouts for the upcoming off-season. Keep checking this space for the most up-to-date information about additional dates and locations.
Miami
When: Saturday, Jan. 28
Where: Miami Southridge High School — 19355 Southwest 114th Ave., Miami, Fla.
Lafayette, La.
When: Saturday, Feb. 4
Where: Leon Moncla Sr. Indoor Practice Facility — University of Louisiana Lafayette, 600 East Saint Mary Blvd., Lafayette, La.
Dallas area
When: Sunday, Feb. 5
Where: Hebron High School — 4207 Plano Parkway, Carrolton, Tex.
Pittsburgh area
When: Saturday, Mar. 10
Where: Southpointe Fieldhouse — 104 Cecil Henderson Rd., Canonsburg, Penn.
Robbinsville, N.J.
When: Sunday, Mar. 11
Where: Robbinsville Field House — 153 West Manor Way, Robbinsville, N.J.
Information
Cost: $80 — cash only
Surface: Field turf
Bring appropriate workout gear (i.e. shorts, cleats, water)
Unless otherwise noted, registration begins at 9 a.m. at which time participants will be weighed and measured. Each participant will be put through a number of Canadian Football League-specific athletic tests and drills such as the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump and vertical jump.
This will be followed by individual position drills and one-on-ones.
