This weekend in Atlanta, 22 GDFL teams merged with the teams of the PSFL to form the NFA- the group of GDFL teams, led by Phil Lytle of the Asheville Grizzlies, includes the 2010 GDFL Champion Carolina Warriors and the Henry County Horsemen (most of the teams were from the Carolinas and Georgia).
The newly-formed post-merger NFA will still be taking applications over the next several weeks and could accomodate as many as 50 teams (there are currently 34). Teams wanting information about being part of the NFA should contact Hank Vicknair at 225-266-1087 or Kevin Dugan at 615-390-3712.
The South's football heavyweights are now ALL IN THE SAME PLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME.
The NFA regular season kicks off on Saturday, April 28.

When you hear rumors always verify your information, because that is all they are until you go to the source.Never take a one sided point of view otherwise you can easily be misled.

Looks like a few of GDFL Texas teams went to AFL also, they show up on both Leagues sites???? From looking at GDFL last years standings and teams showing up for 2012, looks like they replaced a bunch of teams with new ones or just have a name up. Most of them have no website or team info and look to be a lot of first year teams or teams merging. Trouble just around the corner in a league that big, spread from coast to coast with a lot of brand new teams. The new NFA has a lot of teams in south ea, carolina, up through TN. GMFL and AFL looks to ave taken over most of Central, North Central US and the AFL looks to have almost taken over AR and creeping into La and Tx. GDFL seems to be getting more spread out or pushed out in areas while taking over others. Who knows. Guess we'll see come kickoff.
